Greetings!
This is my first Blog Post. Technically it isn’t my first. I recently did a guest post for “Look Before You Leap”, a blog site for entrepreneurs. You can read that post here if you are so inclined.

Technically I was blogging before there was such a thing. I wrote columns for community newspapers “back in the day”. I was inspired by Paul Rimstead, a friend I hung around with. His columns were irreverent, funny and entertaining. Although he was a sports reporter originally he became famous for being famous way back before it was popular. Paul wrote about whatever caught his attention. Most of his columns were humorous & some were just quirky rants.
This is my first time venturing into the world of WordPress and so far I must say that I am not impressed. Either I am incredibly stupid or the software is not intuitive. With luck I will eventually figure out how to add share buttons for LinkedIn, Pinterest & Google+ but for now I only have the default buttons.
I have had enough frustration for one day so this post will be mercifully short. I figured out the share buttons so when I post something worth sharing you will be able to do so.
OOPS. I got it. Not sure how.
I did, it doesn’t. It is there in admin but it only shows 2 of 21. It doesn’t show up on any view that I use. Can you see it from your side?
Congrats on starting your new blog. I recently began writing and I really enjoy it so far. The community is great and very supportive. Best of luck with everything ๐
Thanks. I appreciate the comment. Yours was my first. I didn’t expect it because I hadn’t shared it anywhere (so I thought). I have so MUCH to learn on the back end before I can start writing.
Yeah, there’s a lot to learn but you’ll catch on quick. It isn’t too complicated. If you ever want to read some funny and inspirational stories, you are more than welcome to come by my blog and have a Cup of Joe ๐
I put in 20 new categories today but I haven’t been able to make it show up in my side bar like yours does. What am I doing wrong? I put the widget there.
Add the category widget to your primary side bar and it should come up
