I Meant Well

Sometimes a great notion………

Last week I decided to reward myself with a game of golf. Well, it seems I decided to reward myself with a WEEK of golf. The sun is shining brightly in the Fraser Valley and aside from a few business errands, client interviews, Doctor visits and a very sick friend, I have been playing around. (Golf that is)

I haven’t done any work on my blog at all, so it still looks exactly as it did before. I need to spend some time working on it but I am golfing with a client today and another one tomorrow.  It is good to be able to combine business with pleasure. To further complicate matters I am working Saturday and Sunday as a starter/Marshall at one of the courses.

One of the things I always tell new entrepreneurs is that they should find something that they love doing and figure out a way to get paid to do it. Golf. Marshalling. Getting paid to be on a golf course and getting free rounds of golf to boot is perfect for me!

I have been a writer all of my life as well. I used to be a columnist for a couple of community newspapers. I recently applied to work 14 hours a week as an advertising assistant at another local paper. Why? Because it would be fun. I am at that stage in life where it is more important to enjoy what I am doing than it is to make money (though I need some of that too).

No, I am not giving up my business. These are things I am doing in addition to my business. Now I understand why so many bloggers do their blogging in the wee hours of the morning. And now you know why I haven’t posted a blog in a week. So many golf courses to play and so little time!

I meant well.
